Oh the insanity!!

So after an incredible rehearsal yesterday, I've counted myself in on an upcoming benefit show on December the 10th at Coffee Traders in Columbia Falls. I'm still a little confused on the time, but once I figure it out I'll post it. It seems I'll be gracing with drumkit, Wurlitzer, guitar, bass, and maybe I'll even find myself behind a microphone for a song or two. We're scheduled to play a half hour to 45 minutes before the Flips take the stage. I'm planning on recording the whole thing, and should it turn out, I plan on posting the entire concert for download. Vin, Miah, and I are gelling like never before, and for those of you who have spent some time in the old garage or the basement, you know that it's no small task.

Also finalizing master discs for the Flips, which has ended up being 6 full discs long! Now we're going to go through all of them and assemble one overview disc. Yes, you should be excited because it sounds fucking great!

Sorry I haven't updated in awhile, I've been busy as hell with all the stuff I'm doing, and trying to find more work on the side. Friend response to the material as it comes together is actually flooring me, and giving me a much needed boost. It might be a bit much, but it's a quote that's stuck with me. "You have completely outdone all of your predecesors and influences."

Through the veil...

Well, I ended up not leaving, which is better. Having great sessions, and I'm really enjoying working lately. I've updated with a new song, tentatively titled 'Veil.' It will probably be an album track, but it's still kind of in the baby stages, not many layers, and the vocal track is simply to establish a melody I want to work with. It will probably go through several changes, and I'll be updating the song as it goes, so if your listening to it, and you have a keen idea, e-mail me and let me know and I'll try it out. This will probably be the only album track I'll do this with, but I have some other ideas as far as listener participation that I'm going to try. I'd idealy like to build a track from scratch based on your input, which I'll begin with in the next couple of updates, so let me know what instrument you think I should start with, slow, medium, or fast tempo, and maybe some moody colors for me to think of when I do it.

The picture is a character from the graphic novel. He's one of a legion known as the 'Nimbus Terraformers.' They're nasty little mischevious bastards, and if you see one you should let me know, I'll try and give some advice on how to get rid of one. Unless it has black hallation, then you might just be fucked.

Swiss Miss

Another weekend shall go by with a lack of updates. I'm heading down to Reno tomorrow and then California for the weekend, and I won't be back until next week sometime, but I pretty promise with sugar on top that next week I'll have a big update. Maybe a really big update.

Snowfall. Beautiful. I was so scared of winter, but after standing out in the white midnight, and seeing the millions of tiny unique flurries, I remember why I used to look forward to it as a boy.

Until next time...

Dead Man Walking¿

Sorry I didn't update all week. I was trying to recover from Halloween, and finally realized it probably isn't going to happen. When I can get to a scanner, I will update with some pictures and art of the super silly mayhem.

The Flips were wonderful at both shows, and have a new song that I can't wait to get down for their album.

Speaking of albums, I've finalized the design for the Nautili cover, and a version is being worked up by Jonpagne, which thrills me to no end. I'm also looking into a photo/video version of the concept which would be just too cool. Played the new Wurlitzer for awhile this morning at the IHNI rehearsal space, and have some really fun ideas for it. I'm really proud of the material that's coming together. I'm starting to get ridiculously anxious to share it, and begin rehearsing for shows.

PS: If you're the one who stole my test CD out of my bag last night, please return it. It's not quite yet time.
